CMC Firestopping were appointed to carry out the complete fire stopping works for KRCS as part of their new store fit-out within St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, Hull. This project required a fully certified 60-minute fire resistance installation to protect all fire compartments and service penetrations, in line with the approved fire strategy and UK Building Regulations.

CMC Firestopping provided a full-spectrum passive fire protection service across both phases, including:
- Fire-rated sealing to all service penetrations including:
- Cable trays
- Ductwork
- Sprinkler pipework
- Mechanical service routes
- Sealing at head of wall junctionsand slab edges to maintain full compartmentation
- Complete QA documentation, including photographic records and system data sheets
- Compliance with BS 476 and EN 1366 standards, ensuring all fire stopping systems met the required fire resistance

As part of the new store fit-out for KRCS in Hull’s St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, CMC Firestopping were engaged to deliver a complete passive fire protection package. The scope required fully certified 60-minute fire-rated installations across all service penetrations and structural junctions – a non-negotiable requirement to meet both the project’s fire strategy and UK Building Regulations.
Our team carried out a thorough survey, identifying risk areas and implementing appropriate fire-rated sealant, batt, and collar systems to restore compartmentation and meet FR performance requirements.
